Meet the Team – Pastor Brian Larson

It has been nearly a month since Brian Larson became Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church. The Installation service, which was held on Sunday February 22, 2015, was a complete success. With nothing but positive feedback for the new Pastor, it seemed appropriate for the congregation to get to know Brian Larson.

Before being called to St. John, Brian had served congregations in Cottonwood, Arizona, and Columbus, Ohio. He prepared for pastoral ministry at the Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri after earning a Bachelors degree in Religious Studies at Missouri State University. Brian grew up in the small town of Troy, Missouri where his father was a pastor. While at Concordia, Brian met his wife Sarah who was also a student. They married in 2001 and graduated together in 2003. While Brian was raised in Missouri, Sarah was raised in Southern Oregon, and so they made the move from Ohio to Washington to be closer to Sarah’s family._MG_4659

Brian enjoys spending time with his family, especially watching his kids play ball. He follows the St. Louis Cardinals closely and enjoys laughing it up while watching comics like Brian Regan, Jim Gaffigan, and the late John Pinette. Brian and Sarah enjoy hiking and taking day trips as time allows and they are looking forward to exploring the Pacific Northwest.

Be sure to say hello to Brian, who can be found every Sunday at the door to the sanctuary shaking everyones hands as the leave from worship. We are looking forward learning more about Brian as time goes on, and can’t wait to see what he has in store.
