Discipleship at St. John

Follow Jesus.
Live Fully Alive.
Help others do the same.

Jesus invites us into more than church attendance. He forms us through His grace, gives us a calling, and sends us to love and serve the people He has placed around us.

Our Shared Mission

A Gospel outpost equipped by Jesus to love and serve our neighbors.

Jesus gathers us around His Word and gifts, forms us as His people, and sends us into everyday life. We want every person at St. John to grow as a disciple who knows Jesus deeply, lives with purpose, and helps others experience life with Him.

Life With Jesus

What does it mean to live Fully Alive?

A Fully Alive disciple is growing in intimacy with Jesus and influence with others. We receive life from Him, become more like Him, and join Him in helping others follow Him.

1

Receive Life From Jesus

Jesus meets us with grace through His Word, Baptism, Communion, prayer, worship, and the life of His Church. Everything begins with what He has done for us.

2

Become More Like Jesus

The Holy Spirit forms Christlike character in us as we practice repentance, trust Jesus, obey His Word, and walk honestly with other believers.

3

Help Others Follow Jesus

Every disciple is invited to love, serve, encourage, and invest in others. Over time, disciples become disciple-makers who help others take their next faithful step.

An Emerging Discipleship Pathway

Everyone has a next step.

St. John is currently listening, praying, and working through Mission Mapping and Integration Coaching. Our complete pathway is still being developed, but three movements are helping guide where we are going.

First Movement

Explore

Discover who Jesus is, experience His grace, ask honest questions, build relationships, and begin recognizing how God has uniquely created you.

Second Movement

Develop

Grow in character and calling through Scripture, prayer, obedience, trusted relationships, and intentional practice with other disciples.

Third Movement

Influence

Join Jesus in His mission by loving and serving your neighbors, sharing the Gospel, developing others, and helping disciples become disciple-makers.

We are not launching another disconnected church program. We are building greater clarity around how worship, Scripture, prayer, relationships, service, calling, and everyday mission work together to form disciples of Jesus.
Measurable Transformation

Character × Calling = Impact

Jesus is shaping both who we are and how we join His work. As our character becomes more like Christ and our calling becomes clearer, our lives increasingly make a Kingdom impact.

This is about more than becoming busier at church. It is about becoming the person Jesus is forming us to be and faithfully living that calling wherever He sends us.

C

Character

Who am I becoming as the Holy Spirit forms the life of Jesus in me?

Calling

How have my gifts, passions, story, relationships, and opportunities prepared me to love and serve others?

Impact

What Kingdom fruit is Jesus producing through my surrendered and faithful life?

Relational Discipleship

Disciples are made in relationships.

Information can help us learn, but transformation happens as people follow Jesus together. We need relationships where we are known, challenged, encouraged, equipped, and sent.

01

Known

We experience grace in trusted relationships where we can be honest about our lives, receive encouragement, and keep returning to our identity in Jesus.

02

Formed

We open Scripture, pray, practice obedience, confess where we fall short, and help one another respond to the Holy Spirit.

03

Multiplied

We do not keep what Jesus is doing in us to ourselves. Mature disciples increasingly invest in others who can eventually invest in still others.

Intimacy and Influence

Gathered by Jesus.
Formed by Jesus.
Sent by Jesus.

In worship, Jesus gathers us around His Word and gifts. He reminds us who He is, what He has accomplished, and who we are because of His grace.

Then He sends us into our homes, schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods to live as everyday disciples and disciple-makers.

Your Everyday Mission

Jesus has already placed people around you.

Mission is not reserved for pastors, missionaries, or church programs. Jesus works through ordinary disciples in the ordinary places of life.

L

Love

Notice the people God has placed around you. Listen well, pray for them, practice hospitality, and respond to real needs with the love of Jesus.

S

Serve

Use your gifts, passions, experiences, and relationships to bring the presence and compassion of Jesus into your community.

M

Multiply

Share what Jesus is doing in your life and intentionally help others follow Him. Multiplication begins when one disciple invests in another.
