Discipleship at St. John

You are invited to join the community of St. John as we study God’s Word and serve our neighbors as Christ first served us. Whether you are looking to spend time in Bible Study or are seeking opportunities to help your community, there are options for you!

SUNDAYS SEPTEMBER-JUNE | Adults are invited to join us for Bible Study during Discipleship Hour on Sundays at 9:45am. Typically you will have a choice between 2+ studies to join.

KAIROS ROOM, CONFERENCE ROOM, AND/OR SANCTUARY

One of the Adult Bible Studies is currently using The Gospel Project for Adults, that follows along with both The Gospel Project for Students and The Gospel Project for Kids used by our Youth and Children’s Ministries.

You are invited to come early for coffee, doughnuts and conversation starting at 9:30am in Koinonia Hall (gym).

Adult Bible Fellowship

WEDNESDAYS | Frequently, midweek Bible Study opportunities are offered for Adults at St. John on Wednesdays at 10:30am and/or evenings. Please keep an eye out for announcements regarding midweek Bible Study series. KAIROS ROOM

SUNDAYS SEPTEMBER-JUNE | Youth (grades 6-12) are invited to join us for Bible Study during Discipleship Hour on Sundays at 9:45am. All youth gather together for announcements, prayer and devotion. Youth have the opportunity to dig deeper into the week’s theme through conversation and take-home devotion materials.

UPSTAIRS | KOINONIA HALL (GYM)

YOUTH CONFIRMATION

SEPTEMBER-JUNE | Youth (grades 6+) are invited to engage with, confess, and confirm their faith through our Confirmation Ministry. Sundays at 10:00am, following the all-youth opening, Confirmation participants have the opportunity to join a Catechism Workshop if working through Luther’s Small Catechism. For those that are working on the Christian Living or Rite of Confirmation units, the time can be used for self-directed work, but we encourage their participation in Youth Bible Study as frequently as possible. UPSTAIRS | KOINONIA HALL (GYM)

Unit I. Catechism | 01. The Ten Commandments; 02. The Creed; 03. The Lord’s Prayer; 04. The Sacrament of Holy Baptism; 05. Confession; 06. The Sacrament of the Altar;

Unit II. Christian Living | 07. Worship; 08. Prayer; 09. Study; 10. Service; 11. Fellowship;

Unit III. Confirmation | 12. The Rite of Confirmation.


BIBLE DOCK SUNDAY SCHOOL

SEPTEMBER-JUNE | Children (grades Pre/K-5) are invited to join Bible Dock Sunday School during Discipleship Hour on Sundays at 9:45am. Children have the opportunity to explore God’s Word using music, video, activities, and more in a fun and safe environment. Parents of young ones are welcome to stay and join or observe.
